Summary

This grant opportunity provides funding to support projects that utilize recycled tire materials in infrastructure and community enhancement initiatives. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations and community groups that plan to incorporate Tire Derived Aggregate (TDA) into road construction, geotechnical projects, or similar applications. The funding is designed to reduce material costs, encourage sustainable practices, and promote the reuse of resources in local projects.

The intent of the funding is to enable communities to implement projects that may otherwise face financial or technical barriers. Grants can be applied toward the purchase and installation of TDA for approved projects, supporting innovation in road building and infrastructure development. Organizations are encouraged to demonstrate measurable outcomes, such as project length, environmental benefit, or community impact.

Eligible applicants are limited to nonprofit organizations or community-based entities that operate within the defined region. Individual applicants, for-profit companies, and organizations outside the designated area are not eligible. Each community or organization may receive one grant per calendar year, ensuring equitable distribution of resources across projects and communities.

Award amounts are available up to $20,000 per project, with funding intended to offset material and installation costs. Projects must meet minimum criteria, such as demonstrating at least 100 meters of TDA installation or an equivalent geotechnical project scope. Proposal evaluation prioritizes projects that maximize environmental benefits, cost efficiency, and community engagement.

This grant provides an opportunity for eligible organizations to enhance community infrastructure sustainably while supporting broader environmental goals. By integrating recycled tire materials into construction and geotechnical projects, organizations can foster innovation, efficiency, and tangible community benefits.
